What is CloudCoin?

CloudCoins provide a theoretically “perfect” global currency that cannot be counterfeited, double-spent, mined, or lost. Your actions are 100% private, requiring no public ledgers, accounts, or even encryption. Like the Internet itself, it cannot be brought down by governments, hackers, or even nuclear weapons. CloudCoins consist of 3,200 bits of secret data that only the owner knows. These bits are written into jpg images or in text files that can be stored on your computer and sent to your partner by email, SMS, or even by regular old paper mail.

What is RAIDA?

Redundant Array of Independent Detection Agents. The RAIDA is a global counterfeit detection system that is indestructible and cannot be tampered with or hacked. Neither nuclear bombs, comet strikes, world wars, dictatorships, or government hackers can bring down the RAIDA. It is quantum safe, self-healing, simple, fast, and reliable. RAIDA can detect the authenticity of a CloudCoin within milliseconds.

How to use CloudCoin?

When you want to buy something, you will share the secret numbers with the seller. Now you and the seller know the numbers. Anyone who has the numbers can change the numbers using the RAIDA. There are servers on the Internet that work with other servers to create fault-tolerant storage systems called Clouds. The RAIDA is made up of 25 Clouds located all around the world in different jurisdictions and run by independent RAIDA administrators.

CloudCoin History

The CloudCoin Consortium was created in October of 2016 by its founding member Sean Worthington. In June of 2016, Mr. Worthington was sitting in his bath listening to the Stephan Molynuex Philosophy program when he realized monetary systems are physical implementations of information systems and money is data. If the principles of good data could be applied to money then a perfect monetary system could be created. Worthington was working on a PhD (Computer Information Systems) dissertation on artificial intelligent object recognition system that could recognize money for vending machines.

In August 2016, Worthington minted 16,777,216 CloudCoin notes and registered them with the RAIDA – then in experimental development.

After filing a provisional patent he set out to create the RAIDA. The provisional patent was granted (#62354022). To implement and demonstrate how monetary systems are information systems, Worthington first needed to recruit world-class Systems Administrators throughout the world.

Compare RAIDA to Blockchain





Blockchain and the RAIDA are both databases.


Blockchain and the RAIDA both have data supremacy and cannot be brought down. The only other database in the world with data supremacy is the root DNS system.


Blockchain allows you to insert and read data. Updating and deleting data is not possible. The RAIDA makes it impossible to read, insert, or delete records. The RAIDA only allows updates.


Blockchain gains its physical integrity from being mirrored on thousands of "mining" servers. The RAIDA gets its physical integrity from being shredded and sent to twenty-five independent clouds locating in different geopolitical jurisdictions worldwide.


Blockchain centralized its data on one public blockchain. The RAIDA does not centralize the data. With RAIDA, the data in the files are private. This data is only known to and owned by the user. These files are called CloudCoins. Bits of each coin are shredded and distributed amoung twenty-five clouds so that each cloud receives different data, which is meaningless and holds no value by itself.


Blockchain requires every user to have an account on a public ledger and have public and private keys to access permissions. The RAIDA has no ledger. The CloudCoins have accounts, not the users.


Blockchain is pseudonymous. The RAIDA is 100% anonymous, just like paper money.


Blockchain requires transactions to be synchronized over the servers of thousands of miners and trades very slowly. The RAIDA authenticates CloudCoins in parallel and takes less than 2 seconds.


Blockchain is not scalable. The larger it gets, the slower it gets. The RAIDA is scalable and can handle many millions of transactions every day.


The blockchain network uses terabytes of electricity comparable to the energy used by a small country. The entire RAIDA network uses less electricity than the average home. Blockchain must use huge amounts of bandwidth to synchronize. The RAIDA uses extraordinarily little bandwidth.


Blockchain charges fees. RAIDA has no fees.


When you lose cryptocurrencies on the blockchain, they are lost forever. RAIDA allows lost CloudCoins to be retrieved. No coins are lost forever.


Blockchain uses a private key that has systemic risk of theft. Blockchain is too big to be placed on most desktop and phone computers, so keys must be stored by other people with servers increasing the risk of theft. The RAIDA has no accounts, and theft can be mitigated. CloudCoins can be stored on any device.


Blockchain requires much time to setup an account. The RAIDA does not require accounts. There is less difficulty or "friction" when using CloudCoins.


Blockchains often have a dynamic amount of coins that can be mined, thus creating inflation. RAIDA has a fixed amount, and there is no monetary inflation.


Blockchain combines both logic and data, which constrains what can be done with it. RAIDA separates data from logic. This is incredibly significant and results in things like CloudCoins being able to cross over from the real word into virtual reality, video games, computer programs, spreadsheets, etc. and then be brought back into the real world. This increases value by increasing the usefulness many times over.


Blockchain uses public key encryption that is not quantum-safe, according to the US NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology). RAIDA is quantum-safe in both storage and transportation. RAIDA does not require encryption to store since it is shredded, and RAIDA can be transported using AES encryption that is quantum-safe according to the NIST. AES is the same encryption used by the US Government.


Blockchain was the first digital currency technology. RAIDA is the last because no others are needed to accomplish the purpose, and nothing could be better.
